When Florence Karp immigrated from Nigeria to the United States in 1997, she immediately fell in love with the country and wanted to bring a part of Nigeria to her new home of Minnesota. Networking with other African business owners and entrepreneurs is partly what motivated Florence to start Chef Flo-K Foods. “Many Africans in America work so hard and have such busy lifestyles that they do not have time to cook and eat healthy homemade African foods,” she said. Florence created Afric Sauce as a cooking time saver, making it easy for people to enjoy healthy homemade meals in a short amount of time. Afric Sauce is more than just a condiment - based on a traditional Nigerian stew base, it works great as a base or to pair with a wide array of vegetables, proteins, and grains, and can be eaten hot or cold. Afric Sauce is made in the mid-west in SQF certified facility.

Florence Karp is the founder and CEO of Chef Flo-K Foods LLC, a new company that seeks to bring African foods to Minnesota kitchens. Florence is a first-generation immigrant and lifelong entrepreneur who has dreamed of turning her love of cooking and traditional African foods into a business since she first began cooking with her mother in Buka, Nigeria. When Florence immigrated from Nigeria to the United States in 1997, she immediately fell in love with the country and wanted to share a part of her home country with her new community. It was through this desire that she created Afric Sauce, bringing a delicious product to Minnesota families and beyond so that serving flavorful homemade meals will be convenient, time-saving, and easy. In addition to cooking, helping others succeed is a passion for Florence. Her mission is to make others happy, "or at least a little better than I met them. I want to be remembered as a person who brings a smile to other people’s faces."
