Fried Plantains

Fried Plantains (Serves 4)



4 large plantains

24oz canola oil

1 tbsp sea salt

Afric Sauce



Step 1: Pour oil in a frying pan and place in a medium heat.

Step 2: Peel off the plantain’s skin-

  1. cut off both ends
  2.  make a shallow cut from one end to the other
  3. Remove the skin.

Step 3: Cut peeled plantains into your preferred shapes (diagonal, cube or circle).

Step 4: Sprinkle cut plantains with salt.

Step 5: Gently add cut plantains into medium hot oil, stir and leave to fry until    golden brown on both sides. Pay attention while frying to avoid burnt.

Step 6: Remove fried plantains from oil with a perforated frying spoon.  

Step 7: Allow the oil to drain off and serve with Afric Sauce as gravy.
