About the Recipe

Jollof is a rice dish from West Africa. The dish is typically made with long-grain rice, tomatoes, chilis, onions, spices, and sometimes other vegetables and/or meat in a single pot.

Using Afric Sauce as your spice base for Jollof offers an easy shortcut for incorporating African flavors into your meal.

INSTRUCTIONS

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice

  • 2 cups broth

  • 1 tbsp bouillon powder seasoning

  • 1 cup Afric Sauce

  • (optional) Celery sticks or Cilantro for garnishing

PROCESS:
  • Pour broth and seasoning into a rice cooker

  • Rince rice until the water runs clean, and add broth.

  • Cover and allow to cook.

  • Add Afric Sauce to cooked rice and stir until well covered.

  • Serve with your favorite protein and garnish with celery sticks or Cilantro.

Note: whether you have a rice cooker or just a pot and the stove, the process is similar - for a stove, heat up the rice and broth on medium until it boils, then cover and reduce to low for ~ 15 minutes. When done, uncover and mix in the Afric Sauce, the cover and let sit for 5 minutes.
