Florence Karp is the Founder and CEO of Chef FLO-K Foods, a Minneapolis-based food manufacturing company and the creator of Afric Sauce - an authentic, traditional African sauce & stew base crafted to bring bold flavor, convenience, and cultural richness to kitchens across America.
Through Chef FLO-K Foods, Florence is on a mission to make preparing delicious, home-cooked African meals easy and accessible for families, restaurants, and institutions. Afric Sauce is designed to help both professional chefs and everyday home cooks save time in the kitchen while enjoying the deep, traditional flavors of African cuisine.
Florence’s passion for food began early in life. She was born into a family food business in Nigeria, where her mother owned and operated a popular Buka (traditional restaurant). Growing up in that environment inspired Florence’s lifelong love for cooking and hospitality. She later pursued formal studies in Home Economics and went on to run a successful catering business in Nigeria for many years.
After relocating to the United States, Florence expanded her professional journey into several fields, including the mortgage industry and life coaching. She is also a published author who is passionate about empowering others through entrepreneurship, resilience, and purpose.
Today, Florence combines her entrepreneurial spirit, cultural heritage, and culinary expertise to grow Chef FLO-K Foods and introduce the rich flavors of African cuisine to Minnesota and beyond.
